A good friend of my father’s, Bobby Cooper, was killed in Korea. They were both from Montana, in the 2ID, and as I remember, light 30 machine-gunners. My father has passed away, however as I recall, he told me Bobby was killed defending a hill that was overrun. Can anyone provide me any additional information, or point me to where I can get more details?

Thank you,

Daniel Poe

Posted 12/03/13: My name is Mark Tipton.   I was station at Camp Casey Korea from August 1999 to November 2000 with the 1/503rd Infantry.   I have been searching for any of my military brothers that were with me during that time.  I have found absolutely nobody.

I have been to multiple sites on Facebook and on the Internet.

I do not know what is going on and  I’m at the point of being so frustrated that I’m about ready to quit searching.

Any help would be very appreciative. You can contact me at or facebook me at Mark Tipton thank you very much.
